August 9th Meeting

At our August 9th meeting (at the air-conditioned Grace Lutheran Church), we will be working on a make it-take it project.  Snap sacks will be distributed including all materials to complete the top, backing and binding. You will need some basic sewing supplies, a sewing machine, and a piece of batting approximately 24 inches square - see the newsletter for a list of suggested supplies. It is not necessary to bring the batting to the meeting, as you will probably not be quilting the project that evening. Completed project will be a 20 inch square heart wall hanging. This would be a great project to work on as a team, so call your friends and arrange to share a machine and supplies.

Don't forget:
--The CHARITY chair people will not be at the meeting (Happy vacation!) so hold on to any completed items until September. There are still some kits available to take home.
-- We will again discuss the upcoming QUILT DISPLAY, and hopefully everyone will decide how to help out by signing up to assist one of the committee chairs.
-- TEDDY BEAR clothing is always welcome
-- FAT QUARTER OF THE MONTH - August's theme is beach or summer novelty prints - let's have some fun with it! We have not had much participation in the Fat Quarter of the month - remember that this is one of the monthly fund raisers for the guild budget as well as a chance to go home with a bunch of fun coordinated fat quarters!
-- SHOW AND TELL - maybe a few more of the Challenge quilts have been completed?
-- Did you sign up for SNACK? Beverages are always welcome!
