Our meetings are held on the second Monday of each month in Neff Chapel at the Old Tennent Church, located at the intersection of Tennent and Craig Roads in Manalapan, NJ.
Meetings for the months of July and August are held at Grace Lutheran Church, located in Freehold, NJ.
Doors open at 7:00 pm, meetings begin at 7:30 pm. In case of inclement weather, cancellations or changes will be posted at this blog. For questions about meetings please email us at mollypitcherstitchers@gmail.com.
Directions to Old Tennent Church:
From Route 9 South:
Exit Rt. 9 at Craig Rd., (near Best Buy). At the end of the ramp, make a right onto Craig Rd. Just before the light at Tennent Rd., make the last left into the cemetery driveway of the Old Tennent Church. Neff Chapel is the large white building on the left.
From Route 9 North:
Exit Route 9 at Craig Rd., (near Staples). At the end of the ramp, make a left. At the stop sign, make a left, cross over Route 9 onto Craig Rd. (with Best Buy on right). Just before the light at Tennent Rd., make the last left into the cemetery driveway of the Old Tennent Church. Neff Chapel is the large white building on the left.
Directions to Grace Lutheran Church: (street address is 200 Park Avenue at Main Street, Freehold)
From Route 9 South:
Just after Barnes and Noble, take exit on right for Route 537. At the end of ramp, make left onto Rt. 537 East. At second light, (Grace Lutheran is on right corner) make right onto Rt. 33. Make right into first driveway on right.
From Route 9 North:
Just after WOW (Work out World), take exit on right for Rt. 537. At light, make right onto Rt. 537 East. At next light, (Grace Lutheran is on right corner) make right onto Business Rt. 33. Make right into first driveway on right.

About Our Guild
Twenty-five years ago, there was a mother, Eleanor Vasso and daughter, Daria Eisen, who had an idea. Wouldn't it be nice to combine the love of quilting and friendship together?
They placed an ad in the local paper, looking for quilters. Twenty-one people called. The first meeting was held in November, 1985 in their home in Manalapan, NJ. Hence, our birthday cake each November meeting.
Many ideas were discussed those first few months, the first being a meeting place for the guild. Old Tennent Church was chosen. Next came our name. Because of the cemetery, we were almost called "The Tombstone Quilters!"
But a more historic name was decided upon, "The Molly Pitcher Stitchers", suggested by the daughter's husband. Our first quilt show was held in April, 1987. As the years of quilting went by and our guild grew, many true and lasting friendships were made.
Our mission at MPS is to educate our members and guests about new ideas in quilting through lectures, workshops, and hands-on meetings. Additionally, we provide lap quilts each year to local charities, preemie quilts to hospitals, pillowcases to aid children with cancer, and dress teddy bears to be distributed to children through the Salvation Army.
